Making Art In Wild Spaces

Last summer, I had the great honor to be part of Signal Fire's Outpost Residency in the Mt. Hood area of Oregon. Having never spent more than a few days in the woods before, I was excited for the chance to unplug and be quiet.

The experience was elating, terrifying, and an overall humbling reminder of the force and beauty of nature.

My idea of how to work and why has completely shifted as a result of spending this time in nature. Where and what is HOME has been an emerging theme, on larger and smaller scales. Is it the things around you? A place? A feeling? A body? A connection? Real or imagined?

Ever grateful to Signal Fire for giving space for me to examine these questions.
